DESIGN OF THE BARRICADE - COLUMBUS ACADEMY STUDENT THEATER

Les Mis was put on by The Columbus Academy Student Theater High School Department. This 360° 4'x16' barricade design was achieved using many small platforms hidden by broken pieces of furniture sourced from the surrounding areas and scene shop.

Hello, Dolly was put on by The Columbus Academy Student Theater High School Department. As Assistant Scenic Designer I focused mostly on Set Dressing, the Feed Store and Hat shop, painting techniques, and other details.

Agnes of God was a production put on by the student group Players Theater Group. The dual words of a psychiatrists office and a nuns abbey fought for dominance as Agnes’ mind drifted back and forth.

My first full set design. A play within a play set in a community theater I learned very quickly that the first mistress of all design is the message of the show and that that always takes precedent over aesthetic or personal wants.
